Mental Health Skill Building Services

Mental Health Skill Building services (MHSB) are goal-directed training provided to enable individuals to achieve and maintain community stability and indepedence in the most appropriate, least restrictive environment. MHSB shall include goal-directed training in the following areas:

  • Functional skills and appropriate behavior related to the individual's health and safety
  • Activities of daily living and use of community resources
  • Assistance with medication management
  • Monitoring of health, nutrition and physical condition

Intensive In-Home Services

"Intensive in-home service" means family preservation interventions for children and adolescens (ages 5 - 21) who have or are at-risk of serious emotional disturbance, including individuals who also have a diagnosis or mental retardation (intellectual disability). In-home services are time-limited and are typically provided in the residence of an individual who is at-risk of being moved to an out-of-home or is being transitioned back home from an out-of-home placement.

The services are provided by a qualified and licensed mental health professional. The services include:

  • 24-hour per day emergency response
  • Crisis intervention
  • Individual and family counseling
  • Life, parenting, and communication skills training
  • Case management and coordination with other services

Therapeutic Day Treatment Services

Therapeutic Day Treatment Services are provided by qualified and licensed mental health professionals for children in school or our center, and includes counseling to the family in the home. This service is designed to help students maintain school enrollment when behavior or emotional concerns interfere with maintaining educational placement. Children ages 5 - 21 may be eligible when risk factors and criteria are met, which can be determined by a free consultation with our friendly professionals.
